What should I pack?

  • 4 leotards and/or gymnastics outfits for the 4 training sessions (form-fitting clothing is preferred for safety). There is a new air conditioning system being installed in the training area (yay!!), but I am unsure if it will be up and running by this year’s camp. The lobby and upstairs viewing areas are air-conditioned if you need to step out and cool down. We have some ginormous fans situated throughout the gym. Hand towels to wipe off with may come in handy.
  • Your usual gymnastics workout bag contents, including wristbands for strap bar and athletic tape (please bring your own tape if you need routine taping from Meghan).
  • Wear anything you’re comfortable in for Saturday meals at the gym if you are joining. If you are attending the Margarita’s outing on Friday night, casual clothes are perfect for that.
  • Easily digestible, portable snacks and beverages for between our meal times. The only formal snack break during trainings is on Sunday from 11:30-11:45, but you may take one at any time you wish. No food is allowed over the equipment, but you can eat standing on the side of the gym or in the lobby/upstairs
  • Simple breakfasts if desired, especially if you stay at the Motel 6--there is no complimentary breakfast there. There is a Walmart, Starbucks, Market Basket, Jersey Mikes, Wendy's, Healvnly Donuts, and Dunkin’, and several restaurants very close by.
  • Refillable water bottles with extra ice. There is a water fountain at the gym. Electrolyte powders and drinks might come in handy. The gym will be warm!
  • Personal first aid kit (tape, ibuprofen, ice packs, band-aids, lotion or other products for sore hands from bars) We keep some of these items at the gym but having your own as backup and for the hotel is a good idea.
  • Payment (cash or venmo) for an extra roll of athletic tape ($5), extra T-shirts or tanks at $30 each (the first one is free).

Are there participation requirements?

This camp is FUN. You can do as much or as little as you want. If you don't wish to join in on a warm-up and want to do your own on the side instead, feel free. If you want a longer warm-up, you may skip games to spend extra time stretching. If you don't want to do a particular event, you can switch events during that time slot, just be aware that your new group might be a different level so please be safe. You are always in charge of you! Even though a new event can be nerve-wracking, I promise there is nothing to worry about! You are going to have the time of your life and everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

As far as injury/limitations: There will be absolutely no pressure or expectation to do anything that doesn't make sense for your body. Taking it a little slower on day 1 usually isn't a bad thing to pace yourself! If you are not used to heat and humidity, pace yourself a little bit extra. You probably aren't used to this many hours of practice in such a short time period, plus you are probably traveling which can be tiring on its own! Talk to a coach if you are injured and shouldn't do something, or simply step to the side and watch. We find people have a better time when they err on the side of taking it easy so that they still feel happy and healthy by the end of camp. You can learn as much by watching as by doing, and you are sure to make some new friends either way.

What is the payment and refund policy?

We incur costs based upon the number of enrolled athletes that become fixed as of May 24. The other reason for the deadline is because are not able to remove you from the roster and add another athlete in your place after a May 24 due to logistical issues and the time it takes to make such late adjustments, as we structure the groups very particularly since they are adult groups with hard-to-place skill matches from event to event. Unfortunately if you are not going to be able to make it for any reason you cannot receive the money back at that point. If you request to receive a refund of the balance of $449 after the deadline, or if you request a refund of your $100 nonrefundable deposit, you will receive a copy of this policy which is also posted on our checkout page for your reference.

What are the travel options to and from the gym?

There are 2 major airports within an hour (Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and Logan International Airport). There is also a smaller airport in Portsmouth called Pease. Starting Friday afternoon and ending Sunday early evening if you are in the area and need a ride you should not need a vehicle, unless you want to go sight-seeing on your own. There are always folks willing to offer rides.

Rideshares such as Uber/Lyft are also great options if you are choosing not to rent a vehicle.

From the Manchester airport to Exeter/Brentwood- There is no public transportation from this airport to Brentwood/Exeter. The drive is about 40 minutes.

From Logan Airport- The C&J bus offers lines from the airport to Portsmouth, NH. Rideshare would be needed to get from Portsmouth to Brentwood/Exeter (about a 30-minute drive from Brentwood or a 25-minute drive from Exeter).

What are the closest hotels to the gym?
